It is very exciting to see the boudoir side of my business get recognition on a wonderful website dedicated to the boudoir photography community! I’m proud to announce that I was chosen as the March 2012 featured photographer for the Association of International Boudoir Photographers. Boudoir photography is something I have become very passionate about in the last few years and I have realized in the process that one of the things I am here to do in this lifetime is empower women. As an artist and a photographer, I do this by giving my clients visual access to their own innate beauty in a way that they have never seen before. I can say with total confidence that doing a boudoir session is one of the most empowering experiences a woman can have because I myself have been on the other side of the lens too. Two years ago I went through a very traumatic divorce. My husband of 9 years kidnapped our adopted 13 year old son and left the country, never to return again. It was a heart-breaking time in my life and of all the things I was feeling, beautiful was not one of them. A friend of mine generously gave some of his talent and time to prove me wrong. After that session, before I ever saw a single photo, I felt like a different person. There was something magical about allowing myself to be vulnerable and exposed and being professionally guided to exude power and confidence… and beauty. When I saw the photos taken that day, I was blown away. That hour changed the way I see myself forever. Since then I have been giving that experience back to the world- one woman, one session at a time. The truth is that we are ALL beautiful creatures despite the messages we get inundated with about what is physically beautiful. Real beauty is on the inside and the trick is getting it to show up on the outside. If you don’t think it can be done… try me. Let me prove you wrong![oqeygallery id=203]
