After the formal part of the wedding, it’s time to party! For the couple and their guests, the wedding ceremony is that part of the day where you really need to behave well. It’s where traditional activities and religious rites are performed, so everyone is supposed to respect all of these.
But after the first part has ended, the fun-filled reception unfolds and the guests start to loosen up. This is the most enjoyable part of the day where everyone is supposed to just eat and drink, play some games, and say their funny or touching speeches for the newlyweds. For some, it’s the time to catch up with friends whom they have not seen for a long time.
As can be seen from this photo, these five ladies here look so happy during the reception, posing for the wedding photographer as they chat with each other. Behind them are the other guests who are also talking to each other, savoring these light moments after the wedding.
This sepia-toned image is for keeps because it will constantly remind the couple of how festive the ambiance was during their wedding reception. The smiles from these guests’ faces prove that they had a successful after-ceremony party!
The story of the wedding day ... What a fabulous Beaver Creek, Colorado wedding! I had the honor of photographing for Jessica and Jon Reedy at Beano's Cabin. JoAnn Moore, of Mountains and Meadows, was the fantastic wedding coordinator and not a single detail was missed. JoAnn did such an amazing job with this wedding and it is always such a relief to work with such talented professionals. A huge thank you goes out to her for the referral of this fantastic couple. Both Jessica and Jon are beyond gorgeous people and it was funny because we kept getting stopped in the Beaver Creek village by passers-by wanting to know if we were shooting a "real" wedding or if they were models. I started responding: Both! :-)
Jess (previously Cumming), aka, the "princess of the pipe" was not only a vision of a bride, but she is also a US Olympic half-pipe skier. Jon is an extreme skier as well (they met skiing!) and the two of them combined have more than a gaggle of skier friends that helped their reception party bounce well into the night. I learned something new too.
