Imagine the day you are about to walk down the aisle and you see the man you love standing on the other end, waiting for you in the altar. Imagine seeing all the guests focused on you on that precise moment. A walk in the aisle probably feels like the longest walk a bride has and will ever take.
And as the bride walks down the aisle, it is very fitting to have a lovely bouquet in her hand. Since the start of 19th century, flowers and bouquets have been a symbol of love. Lovers used to send flowers to one another, along with their messages.
As a symbol of love and beauty, a creative arrangement of different flowers has always been part of weddings. Brides hold them all throughout the wedding, and release them only when it’s time to know who the next bride will be. Although bouquets will be thrown when this game is performed, it nevertheless, has to look gorgeous.
The one in the photo is a really beautiful bouquet that’s composed of white huge and fully-grown flowers with a touch of soft pink color all around. Even without seeing the bride’s face, it’s easy to assume that she’s happy with what she has in her hands. This bouquet is undeniably lovely no matter what your preference for flower arrangement is.
What happened at the wedding? This was hands down one of the most fun weddings I've ever photographed. Not only were the hand prints of Karensa and Elliott obvious in every unique detail of this day, but each seemed to tell a story about this amazing, genuine couple.
Desiring a romantic, intimate setting and a celebration of the life they've created in Boulder, these Colorado lovebirds held their ceremony in the backyard of the home they'd been living in for two years. They wanted a place where they could be themselves and have a ceremony that focused on them.
With a garden romantic theme and rose and navy blue as their colors, they wanted the atmosphere to feel like a lovely Boulder evening coupled with chic elegance.
From inside their home, Karensa loved seeing everyone setting up for the big day, and especially spying from the third floor window as guests arrived. And as for the first look, well, words can't sum up how special it was. The series of photos simply speak for themselves.
Before arriving at the Rembrandt Yard Gallery for the reception, the bridal party was taken to North Boulder Park for picture time. Just when you thought riding over in pedicabs (yes, pedicabs) wasn't fun enough, an impromptu dance party broke out in the middle of the park. (Note: I may or may not have joined in at one point, as these people were. a. blast.)
Just as expected, the reception was nothing short of awesome. Not only was there a great band, tons of dancing and gorgeous details, but the milkshake shooters topped with cookies -- in place of a wedding cake -- were quite the unique treat. Then, as a tribute to Elliott's nightly, pre-bedtime bowl of cereal, the evening snack was a cereal bar accompanied by a milk fountain. Perfection.
I can't thank Karensa and Elliott enough for allowing me to be part of their special day and can honestly say I've made two new wonderful friends. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness and MORE!
