What a royal start to a beautiful marriage! At the Cherokee Ranch & Castle Wedding in Sedalia, Colorado, the lucky couple posed in front of the dramatic mountain landscape as the sun set beneath the horizon.
As a Colorado wedding photographer, this location is a dream come true for me. Of all the remarkable wedding venues around the state, few are quite so picture perfect as this stunning spot! Who needs a destination wedding when we’ve got such incredible beauty in our own backyard?
When I talk to couples about their wedding photography, one of their biggest questions is always about how to look natural and comfortable in wedding photos. The truth is that it’s all about finding the perfect place and time. After so much buildup and whirlwind ceremony, nothing puts a couple more “in the moment” more than enjoying a peaceful sunset. Being alone together for the first time and having that first authentic moment as husband and wife is what creates that perfect wedding album cover shot.
As a Denver wedding photographer, I love mountain wedding venues because it offers an oasis to slip away from all of the madness of the reception. Looking out at a breathtaking scene like the one beside Cherokee Ranch Castle could make anyone forget about all of their cares! All of a sudden, the bride and groom are comfortable, happy, and completely forget that I am there. As a wedding photographer, I’m happiest when I can hide away on the cliff side while the couple takes in the very moment that the sun sets on their first day together as husband and wife.
