While I often get questions about the wedding photographer cost, wedding photography packages, and all of those logistics, there is one question I get perhaps more than any other. Where is the best place to get married in the Colorado Rocky Mountains? After attending countless weddings and seeing the best wedding venues in Colorado, even my friends who have been married for decades are curious about the most beautiful venues.
Of course, I always say that it depends on the couple. As a wedding photographer, I love photo shoots outdoors in the mountains. Every time I visit a new location for a wedding photo shoot, I remember just how lucky we are to be living in such a gorgeous state. From unique wedding photos of couples snowboarding down the mountains to traditional shots in downtown Denver wedding venues, there are so many options. That said, there are few places on this planet that take my breath away like the Garden of the Gods. We did a couple’s wedding day photo shoot at the Mesa Overlook and the results are truly stunning.
The rich dramatic shades of slate, iron, and charcoal of the mountain backdrop perfectly match the groom's elegant three-piece suit. Meanwhile, the beautiful bride takes center stage in her dramatic slowing gown that stands in glowing contrast to the rugged mountainscape behind her. The one of a kind setting creates such a unique wedding photo that I can easily imagine hanging up over their mantle for decades to come. We were actually incredibly lucky to have an overcast day -- and not just because rain on your wedding day is lucky! The darkened skies brought a rich depth of color to the shot that turned out even more beautifully than I could have imagined. The dramatic backdrop on their wedding day portrait was the perfect fairy tale image for the happy couple.
