Every once in a while, as a wedding photographer, you get lucky. You capture the perfect wedding photo of a couple who has forgotten about the camera for just a moment. All of a sudden, you’re able to snap that dream wedding picture that they can hang on the wall for years to always remind them of the magic of their wedding day.
As much as I love creating the perfect background for couples’ photo shoots and capturing outdoor wedding pics with the Rocky Mountains towering overhead, sometimes the backdrop just fades away. This gorgeous couple could have been on any sidewalk in any patch of grass anywhere in the world and it simply would not have mattered. Their love is truly taking center stage in this lovely snapshot. Walking the grounds of the Sanctuary Golf Course in Sedalia, Colorado, there were countless beautiful spots but this shot simply didn’t need any staging.
Sometimes, it’s not about having the perfect wedding day makeup or capturing all of the intricate details of that gorgeous wedding dress or bridal bouquet. It’s about holding onto a moment of love and tenderness with a photo that the happy couple can cherish for a lifetime.
One thing I especially love about this wedding day shot is how the bride steals the show. The groom holds her beautiful bouquet of delicate ivory, rose, and, blush flowers so she can get her hands around the face of the man she will proudly call her husband for the rest of her days. The bride's striking snow-white wedding dress sways gently to the side while her chiffon veil falls effortlessly behind her. It is a truly timeless scene that you can easily imagine having above the mantel in the couples’ home, then passed down to their children and grandchildren.
