When you live in Colorado, the great outdoors are never far from your mind. We have been blessed with some of the most beautiful scenery on the planet and, as a wedding photographer, I jump at the chance to find the perfect space for a photo shoot outside. I adore doing outdoor wedding photography and it’s a smart way to bring each couple’s unique personality to a photo shoot. Whether it’s a sporty couple posing in kayaks or mountain lovers summiting a new peak, there is something truly magical about outdoor couples’ photography.
I recently had the opportunity to take some amazing wedding photos at Union Station in Denver. With a modern yet timeless backdrop, it was an incredible space to have a wedding photo shoot with the young city-loving couple. As soon as we arrived, we knew why this is always counted amongst the best Denver wedding photo shoot locations.
In front of the striking Beaux-Arts architecture of Union Station with the sleek downtown skyscrapers towering overhead, the cool hues of the background set off the charcoal and ivory wedding apparel of the bride and groom. In the middle of the flawless shot, the rich tones of the bride’s bouquet shine while her ethereal veil blows gently in the wind behind her. For a couple who counts their native city amongst their greatest loves, there couldn’t have been a better spot.
With so many picture-perfect backdrops like this (or Instagramable spots as we call them now!), Downtown Denver wedding venues are a dream come true for wedding photographer and couples alike. Beyond Union Station, places like the Big Blue Bear, Denver Botanic Gardens, Ellie Caulkins Opera House, and Red Rocks Amphitheater add that Colorado flair that creates one of a kind wedding pics and engagement photo shoots.
